Main/PF 28mm 50mm Edge Softness Field Test Update (1/2/3)

Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC Lens Review - page 6

I got two 16-35s, two 17-40s, and a 18-55 kit lens to test with my Sigma 18-50/2.8.  It appears the 2nd 16-35 is either a terrible performer or badly focused.  I suspect the former but more testing is in order.  Take note that the #2 lenses were tested later in the day (still indoors, same lighting) so the direction isn't exactly the same.  Also, exposure was one on Aperture Priority so I could do the test more quickly, and therefore shutter speeds may have some variation.  Besides that the shots were done from a counter with a cable release with mirror lockup so they should be as sharp as necessary.
